چکیده

Objective PD-L1 is an immune checkpoint molecule expressed by a variety of tumors, including ovarian, which binds to circulating PD-1 expressing effector T cells allowing for tumor escape from the immune system. PD-L1 blockade prevents PD-L1/PD-1 interaction and is currently explored as therapy of solid tumors. Ovarian cancer patients receive combination cisplatin/taxane chemotherapy as standard of care. Chemo-induced effects on tumor PD-L1 expression have been only partially addressed. We studied here the effect of platinum/taxane exposure on PD-L1 expression in vitro and in vivo.

Chemotherapy Induces Programmed Cell Death-Ligand 1 Overexpression via the Nuclear Factor-κB to Foster an Immunosuppressive Tumor Microenvironment in Ovarian Cancer.

Emerging evidence has highlighted the host immune system in modulating the patient response to chemotherapy, but the mechanism of this modulation remains unclear. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of chemotherapy on antitumor immunity in the tumor microenvironment of ovarian cancer. Treatment of ovarian cancer cell lines with various chemotherapeutic agents resulted in upregulated...

99mTc-Glucarate for assessment of paclitaxel therapy in human ovarian cancer in mice

Objectives: The monitoring of cancer treatment response to chemotherapy is considered an essential strategy for follow-up of patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of 99mTc-glucarate as a radiotracer for in vivo quantification and visualization of necrotic area and therapeutic effect of paclitaxel in ovarian cancer xenografted nude mice. Materials and Methods: After implantatio...

Supernatant Metabolites from Halophilic Archaea to Reduce Tumorigenesis in Prostate Cancer In-vitro and In-vivo

Halophilic archaea are known as the novel producers of natural products and their supernatant metabolites could have cytotoxic effects on cancer cells. In the present study, we screened the anticancer potential of supernatant metabolites from eight native haloarchaeal strains obtained from a culture collection in Iran. Five human cancer cell lines including breast, lung, prostate and also human...

Human Cancer Biology PD-L1 on Tumor Cells Is Induced in Ascites and Promotes Peritoneal Dissemination of Ovarian Cancer through CTL Dysfunction

Purpose: Ovarian cancer often progresses by disseminating to the peritoneal cavity, but how the tumor cells evade host immunity during this process is poorly understood. Programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PDL1) is known to suppress immune system and to be expressed in cancer cells. The purpose of this study is to elucidate the function of PD-L1 in peritoneal dissemination. Experimental Design: O...
